Dear Brittany, I just thought I would share with you what I shared when I posted your story on FB. Congratulations!!
Just thought I would happily share the story of what is coming next for Charlie’s farm. I will no longer have my little garden there and that is more than ok! When Charlie told me what would be happening this spring, I was very excited! When you read below you will understand why. I for one will do everything I can to support this effort to preserve land to which I have become quite attached over many years. For me this isn’t just a place where I learned to pick suckers off tomatoes, spent endless back breaking hours pulling up stones before I could plant, the proper way to plant corn or how to shuffle hoe, a place that grew the most delicious apples in the world just a few steps from the tire swing just below; it is a place where I fell in love with the flocks of turkeys nesting, families of white tail deer patrolling the perimeter, blissful music from singing birds in the wee hours of the morning, It is where over the years I formed a very strong bond with one of the most wise mentors I have ever had the good fortune to meet – Charlie Nickerson. It is my loyalty to him and his dream that drives me to support the efforts to keep and preserve this beautiful farm land. I hope those of you who live in the area will come visit and want to do the same!
