We are growing our team! At Upswing Farm we strive to offer accommodating schedules, fair compensation and set reasonable and clear production expectations. The diversified nature of our operation provides interesting work that varies on a daily/weekly/seasonal basis.
About Us: We are a for-profit, certified organic, family farm, managed by two experienced owner/operators. We distribute to 450 member families through a year-round CSA, our primary outlet. We attend one summer farmers market, work with several wholesale partners, sell 120 bouquets/week from July to October and sell over 1000 flats of certified organic seedlings at our spring seedling sale. We care deeply about finding the balance between growing and distributing high quality produce and flowers, providing an inclusive, fulfilling and sustainable employment opportunity for our team, continually refining our systems to improve soil fertility, crop quality, and production efficiency, and achieving the financial success required to make our goals possible.

Harvest Team: 7am-10am or 9am-12pm M/W or F
Wash/Pack Team: 1pm-4pm M/W or F
The Season
First week of April through the week before Thanksgiving.
Must be available June-September.
Opportunities to work for winter shares may be available.
If you ever can’t come, you can either forfeit the share for the week, or coordinate an alternate time/day to come help.
What’s Involved
Harvest Team: The work involves bending, lifting, walking while carrying 20-40 lbs over rough terrain, fine motor skills to harvest and bunch a wide variety of produce quickly. You will harvest a lot of peas, beans, cherry tomatoes, sweet peppers along with a wide variety of other produce. On occasion we will do other tasks like planting and weeding if harvest finishes early.
Wash/Pack Team: Work to wash, sort, bag and organize produce for distribution. Then, help clean work spaces so they are ready for the next harvest.
We can make accommodations based on physical capacity.
We like to have fun while we work, but need to make sure work is getting done. Imagine a grandmother’s hands moving at light speed knitting while she casually chats with her friends. That’s what we’re striving for!
If you are interested: please let me know the day and time you would prefer to do your work for share hours, the duration of the season you would like to work, and anything special we might need to know. Then, we can plan to get you out to the farm for a trial work day.
