(This weeks blog entry comes from Erin – with a few notes from Brittany in the mix). With temperatures in the 90s and summer produce in full swing, we are quite literally in the heat of summer. At this time of year we are excited to distribute some of the summer CSA favorites—tomatoes, peppers, melons,Continue reading “Summer CSA – Week 9”

Summer CSA: Week 8
It’s the start of sweet corn. Yep. That’s right, this summer favorite is here, but Upswing Farm style. That means we used organic growing methods to produce this sweet corn. No chemically treated seed, no herbicides to keep the weeds down, no pesticides to kill bugs. The crew tasted it this morning and they approved. Continue reading “Summer CSA: Week 8”
Summer CSA: Week 7
Pick, pick, pick. We spend a lot of time picking vegetables right now! Our friend, Bob Durling, got some nice shots of the Friday crew harvesting for the Ashland Market (and a rather humorous shot of the large share last week. I can see at least 4 faces in the vegetable shot – can you?)Continue reading “Summer CSA: Week 7”
Summer CSA – Week6

Summer CSA – Week 5
Wow, Erin did a great job on her blog last week. It’s made me nervous to even try to write something today. At this time of year I frequently resort to a few pictures, recipes and an “I’m so busy”. Erin’s blog made me think a lot about how I sensor myself in these emails. Continue reading “Summer CSA – Week 5”
Summer CSA – Week 4
Hey Folks! Assistant Manager, Erin here. Brittany gave me the honor of writing this week’s CSA email. Today (Sunday) was hot… I spent the morning harvesting zucchini, squash, cucumber, and sunflowers—crops that are time sensitive and want to be harvested at just the right size. Now, I sit here gratefully in my well-air conditioned houseContinue reading “Summer CSA – Week 4”
Summer CSA – Week 3
Flower CSA Share starts this week. If you purchased a flower CSA Share you should receive an email with details about pick up. This is 2-3 weeks before we planned to start the share, but we have flowers now so we are going to get started. This means the share will go until the firstContinue reading “Summer CSA – Week 3”
Summer CSA – Week 2
An inch of rain would make my life a lot easier right now.
Summer CSA – Week 1
It’s the first week of the summer share! I’ve got to be honest, I’m been biting my nails leading up to this moment. We happily sold out all of our summer shares in May, and we’ve got a healthy waiting list – but that means we need to have produce . . . Every yearContinue reading “Summer CSA – Week 1”
Spring CSA – Week 4
Spring CSA – Week 4 (email sent on Memorial day) Abbreviated Email! We’re taking the afternoon off to see a movie. We don’t see movies anymore (my first in two years, except for The Last Jedi, which was worthwhile, but disappointing – can’t wait to talk Star Wars with all of you in the stand!).Continue reading “Spring CSA – Week 4”
