Upswing Farm has one hundred 20 year old apple trees that have been managed conventionally for the entirety of their lifetime. Our Organic Apple Project is an attempt to convert the orchard to organic management.

Will MCaffrey, graduate of the Cornell University Orchard Management Program and resident of Taunton, MA will be providing consultation to develop management systems for this transition.
Our goal is to provide high quality fruit without the need for regimented sprays of chemical pesticides. We will update soon as the project progresses. There will be opportunities for the community to attend workshops to learn about pruning, grafting and thinning, and we will hopefully open the orchard for a Pick-Your-Own event in the fall.
